So here's my little corner of the website where I can share my thoughts, happenings, and random nothingness (or somethingness?) as I travel along on this musical journey. Thanks for checking in and reading about what's been going on.

Cool Sketch by Richard Russo

Jason Masi Hand Sketch by Richard Russo

Last Friday in Clifton, VA at my show at Paradise Springs Winery, I met the resident artist, Richard Russo.  He was very generous and gifted me this hand drawn picture he sketched while he listened to my last couple of songs for the evening.  You can check out his art on display anytime you take a visit to the winery!

Stations Playing "Life Is Wonderful"

JANUARY 25 2012

The new album, "Life Is Wonderful" was recently sent out to college radio with the help of Tinderbox Music.  These stations have played tunes from the album.  Special thanks to the stations with a * for giving it some extra love.

A New Album in the Works!

March 3, 2011

I'm in the process of putting together some new and old tunes for another release.  I'll be teaming up with my good friend and fellow musician Mike Jarvis on this one.  We're hoping to strip this one down to the bare essentials.

How did this happen?

So, as with any kind of project, sometimes things can start off in one direction and end up in a completely different direction. This has certainly been the case with my solo project. When I started recording songs with my good friend, Clay Wray, in December of 2008, I had the idea that I would put some really chill songs together for an acoustic demo of sorts and play some local pubs/coffee shops to get my rocks off on songs that weren't fitting for the loud bars that my roots/rock/soul band, Jubeus plays.

Pretty Little Lovesongs.....they are getting lonely.

Welcome to my webpage! Ah, yes. Well, I'm now in the process of grooming through some old and new chill-out songs to start a project of recordings. I'm pretty excited about this because I've had some songs I've wanted to explore for awhile. Generally, the stuff I write in my room with an acoustic guitar starts off pretty mellow (mainly because I'm chilling in my room with an acoustic guitar) and some of it stays pretty mellow.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year everyone! The beginning of 2009 is showing promising signs of good things ahead. The recording sessions at Hanover Music are well under way and we've laid down 10 acoustic tracks and are starting to add some layers to a few songs as well. I'm lucky to have had the pleasure of collaborating with some of the best talent in Richmond so far on some of these tunes and will continue working with some of them moving forward with this project. More on this in the coming weeks…

Unreleased Tune

Jubeus recently played an unreleased tune called "The Love We Give" at The Central Virginia Wine Festival in Innsbrook. I posted the lyrics below if you want to follow along. We have fun with this one:
